A Philanthropist is someone, who gives his time, energy and resources to the public.

Taking from the word, Philanthropy is a form of altruism that consists of “private initiatives, for the public good, focusing on the quality of life”.

Philanthropy contrasts with business initiatives, which are private initiatives for private good, focusing on material gain; and with government endeavors, which are public initiatives for the public good, notably focusing on the provision of public services.

A person who practices philanthropy is a philanthropist.

Dr Sandeep is a notable Philanthropist, as a surgeon, he does not only give his medical skills to the public, but he also help in fundraising, giving out donations and others.
